Guide to the use of Genit cleansing emulsions

For adults

Cleaning of the genital area in non-circumcised men

Gently pull back the foreskin and apply about 2 ml GenitMEN on the glans, penis shaft and scrotum. Massage briefly, then rinse with lukewarm water and dab dry with a clean cloth without rubbing. The slightly oily feeling that is noticeable after rinsing is normal. Thanks to this invisible protective layer, the skin feels extremely soft throughout the intimate and anal areas. The physiological hydrolipid barrier of the skin is a natural defense against sweat, bacteria, fungi, viruses and detergent residues in clothing.

What do I need to consider when shaving my genitals?

For more and more men nowadays intimate shaving or hair removal in the intimate area is part of their life. From a hygienic point of view, there is nothing wrong with it. However, shaving can irritate the skin, the hair roots can become inflamed and the hair can grow in. GENIT® products are suitable for the care of sensitive skin in the intimate area during hair removal or shaving. Dry shaving is not recommended for the intimate zone because it puts too much strain on the skin.

Depilatory creams are not recommended because they can cause irritation or allergies. In the intimate area, for example, a wet shave is possible under the shower or in the bathtub with a fresh razor blade and the mild washing lotion from GENIT® (instead of shaving cream or similar). It should always be shaved gently in the direction of hair growth.

Taboo subject anal region

Of course, daily intimate care also includes the anal area. This is still a taboo subject - many people do not dare to go to the doctor despite itching, burning or pain. This is a completely unfounded fear: Diseases of the anal region occur very frequently and are a daily routine for the doctor treating you.

You should know the following about daily hygiene: The skin in the anal area is particularly sensitive and slightly acidic with a pH of about 5. Commercially available soaps can dry out the skin. Regular cleansing with the GenitMen / GenitPLUS / GenitJUNIOR specially developed for the male intimate zone helps you to prevent harmful bacteria from settling in the skin folds on the buttocks and leading to infections.

After washing, you should dry yourself well with a soft towel - dab dry, don't rub! - and change the towel daily. Soft toilet paper is also gentle on the skin. Some products contain additives such as bleaching agents, fragrances or dyes. They may cause irritation or allergic reactions. This can also be the case with moist toilet paper. For this purpose, we offer the delicate GenitWIPE wet wipes for the entire genital area explicitly for men, children and adolescents. Also make sure to wipe from front to back and not to rub too hard.

For children and adolescents

Cleaning the genital area of children and adolescents

Gently pull back the foreskin and apply about 2 ml of GenitJUNIOR to the glans, penis shaft and scrotum. Massage for one minute and rinse with lukewarm water. Then pat dry with a clean cloth without rubbing. The slightly oily feeling that is noticeable after rinsing is normal. Thanks to the invisible protective film, the skin in the entire (anal and) intimate area feels extremely soft. In case of resistance to the retraction of the foreskin (physiological in children), do not apply pressure, but apply a small amount of GenitJUNIOR to the space between the glans and the foreskin. Massage gently and rinse under running water. Then pat dry with a clean cloth without rubbing.

Knowledge

Smegma

How is smegma formed?

This light yellow substance is formed between the glans and the foreskin. It consists of a secretion of the sebaceous glands, skin flakes, bacteria, urine and sperm residues. If it is not removed, it can promote inflammation and even penile cancer. Once the foreskin is retracted, the glans can be easily cleaned with warm water using the GENIT® product line. You should also wash the testicles with the GENIT® cleansing emulsion as well.

How to remove smegma during intimate care?

When it comes to intimate hygiene, it is also important that you regularly remove the so-called smegma - a white or pale yellow substance between the foreskin and the glans. Therefore, always push back the foreskin during intimate hygiene. It is important that the smegma does not remain on the skin, otherwise there is a risk of inflammation and infection.

Can smegma make you sick?

Yes. The substance is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. They can lead to inflammation of the penis and urethra. The inflammations can increase the risk of cancer, known as penile carcinoma. If a viral infection is present due to any HP viruses in the smegma, the female partner ♂♀ / male partner ♂♂ may also become infected. The unpleasant smell and the unattractive appearance should therefore not be the only reasons for daily intimate hygiene - after all, in extreme cases it can save your health and the relationship.

How to prevent the development of smegma?

The most important rule: daily intimate cleansing! To do this, pull back the foreskin as far as possible, preferably in the shower. Now, when cleaning, pay special attention to the attachment point between the foreskin and the glans. For this purpose, use GENIT products with lukewarm water, which cleans better than cold water. However, water alone is not enough.

Foreskin constriction

What is meant by a foreskin stenosis?

Foreskin stenosis (phimosis) is an abnormality of the outer ring of the foreskin covering the glans of the penis seen in many boys and a few men. In the vast majority of cases, this mostly harmless abnormality is of a merely temporary nature. As a rule, no medical intervention is required for foreskin stenosis.

Foreskin stenosis must be distinguished from the very common foreskin adhesion (physiological phimosis), which is often confused with it and in which the inner foreskin leaf sticks to the glans as a result of developmental processes. Physiological phimosis usually resolves before the age of six. Use GenitJUNIOR for your super-hero as an accompanying and helpful intimate cleansing.

Those who suffer from foreskin constriction can only retract it with pain or not at all. However, a so-called foreskin adhesion (physiological phimosis) exists in every child. Only when the foreskin still cannot be retracted between the ages of three and five is it said to be pathological phimosis. In addition, complaints such as scars, inflammation or pain can also occur.

Balanitis & Posthitis

How can foreskin inflammation and acorn inflammation be treated?

Thanks to its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory action, Genit can relieve symptoms of foreskin inflammation & acorn inflammation and prevent recurrence of these inflammations after successful treatment.

Product

What is GENIT®?

GENIT® is an oil-based cleansing emulsion whose innovative formula is composed of natural ingredients. It allows the physiology and specificity of the male genital area to be taken into account at all stages of development. As a cleansing emulsion, GENIT® is neutral in terms of pH, which tends to be more alkaline in men / children / adolescents than in women. It is suitable for cleaning the penis, scrotum and anus. For correct use, GENIT® oil-based cleansing emulsion is applied to dry (mucus) skin, followed by a light massage and then rinsing of the genital area.

Intimate care made to measure: simple and effective

When it comes to intimate care, two main mistakes are observed: washing too much or too little. The right thing to do is to clean the genital area thoroughly once a day and to change underwear daily.

Too frequent washing and showering, possibly with unsuitable soaps or shower gels, can attack the protective acid mantle of the skin, especially in the sensitive male genital area. This in turn affects the natural germ flora, making it easier for harmful bacteria and fungi to grow.

Intimate deodorants or sprays are also not necessary. Sometimes they even cause problems. Perfumes can cause allergies. Sometimes a bad smell develops instead of the hoped-for fresh scent.

How to properly wash and care for your intimate area as a man, we describe on our advice page.

Using intimate hygiene for an examination

Many health complaints can be detected at a very early stage and treated accordingly. Therefore, use intimate care not only for cleaning, but also for a thorough examination of the body region.
